April 2026 Lunch & Learn
Aging network professionals routinely answer a myriad of questions from older adults and their family caregivers about everything from insurance forms to finances to finding personal care aides and adaptive equipment. Among the hardest questions, though, have to do with managing sometimes difficult relationships--between the older adult and their primary caregiver, among squabbling relatives, and between aging families and hard-to-reach or uncommunicative doctors, nurses, and therapists. In this highly interactive presentation by Barry J. Jacobs, Psy.D. and Julia L. Mayer, Psy.D., Philadelphia-area clinical psychologists and the co-authors of The AARP Caregiver Answer Book, will focus on seven of the toughest questions that arise and offer concise, pragmatic advice. Case illustrations will be used throughout. A lively discussion is encouraged.
