About the Presentation
“Scams and Frauds 101”
Our Outreach Coordinators work closely with state and local law enforcement, drug abuse prevention workgroups, US Postal Inspectors, AARP, Area Agencies on Aging, schools, faith-based organizations and more. Based upon this experience, Stephen will speak to our LSIN attendees on how to best protect our elder community from scams and frauds.
About Our Speaker
In August of 2019, Stephen Izaguirre joined the Office of the Attorney General as the Northern Virginia Community Outreach Coordinator. Stephen’s region covers approximately 17 counties in the Commonwealth, including the D.C. metro area, Winchester, Luray, Warrenton, Fredericksburg, and Stafford. As Community Outreach Coordinator, Stephen’s role is to educate the public about a variety of topics to prevent victimization. Additionally his role is to link agencies and individuals with the resources available through the Attorney General’s Office. The Northern Virginia Community Outreach Coordinator also works in depth with senior citizen organizations such as Triads, healthcare providers, and workgroups to prevent our seniors from becoming the victims of crime & health care fraud.
